This place is a Hong Kong vibe! Reminded me of the time back in Hong Kong and all the foods are comparable to the foods there. The restaurant is just like the streets of Hong Kong! The wait can be long but the food usually comes out pretty quick!

Walking into Alice's Kitchen is like stepping into a parallel universe where Hong Kong dai pai dongs are cute, clean, and... friendly? The only things missing were a grumpy uncle slamming down your plate, a short-tempered auntie yelling "下次唔好嚟啦!" ("Don't come back next time!"), and the sheer awkwardness of daap toi--sharing a table with a stranger who inhales their food like it's a competitive sport. The Food: Lap Mei Fan (Preserved Meat Claypot Rice) - Good char, nice smokiness, but kinda basic--like a college kid who just discovered truffle oil. Reliable, but not life-changing. Lemongrass Pork Chop - Absolute legend. Tender, juicy, and perfectly seared. If this pork chop were a person, it'd be that one friend who somehow looks good in every photo, even with bad lighting. Beef Brisket Curry - Easily one of the best Hong Kong-style curries I've had. The brisket melts in your mouth like it's been simmering since the Qing Dynasty, the potatoes hold their dignity, and the curry itself is warm, rich, and just spicy enough to make you question your life choices (but in a good way). The Perks: Service: Shockingly fast and friendly. No side-eye. No passive-aggressive sighs. Honestly, a little unsettling. Lemon Tea: Free refills, which means you can chug it like a dehydrated camel and still get more. Parking: Street parking--aka The Temple City Hunger Games. May the parking gods bless you with an open spot that doesn't require an illegal U-turn. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I trade the friendly service for a slightly rude, middle-aged waiter who scolds me for ordering too much food? Also yes.

I love the food here. From the food to the people who work here, it takes me back to Hong Kong. It is now 2025 and the prices are about the same as last year. The prices are fair for the portion and quality. The service is always on point and your food comes out quickly. I always order takeout so that I have food for the week. I wish they opened one in OC so I could visit more often.

First time here and I loved the minced pork rice (10/10)! It's a simple yet delicious dish that is definitely a must try. I also had their fried chicken wings and squid (7/10) which was good, but I wish the squid had a bit more flavor to it. I tried their ovaltine french toast (7/10) which was plenty sweet. It was drenched in condensed milk and the bread was a nice chewy texture. The inside felt like a mix of a Hong Kong street market and normal restaurant which was really cool. There was a small wait, but once we were sat the service was really quick. There's also plenty of parking around the back of the restaurant!

I love the vibe this place offers. Sure, it's a bit kitschy in its Hong Kong street food decor, but I still found it cute, fun, and a nice reminder of my time when I visited Hong Kong. An immediate good sign during my first visit was that there were a lot of elderly Asian people eating here, so the food must be decent, and/or the reasonable prices make it tolerable. I ordered my favorite things for HK-style brunch, which is the thousand-year-old egg and shredded pork congee with a side of soy sauce chow mein, pineapple butter buns, and a hot HK milk tea. The pineapple buns could have used a minute less in the toaster oven, and the lower sodium content for the entrees was definitely tailored more towards the clientele, but all in all, I thought it was a nice dining experience. The server was kind enough to offer me some different options as I was struggling to order vegan-friendly to-go for my husband. The service can be a hit or miss since they are so busy - you just need to know how to assertively flag down a server when they pass through your table.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on Sunday. The wait was quick. Sorry no pictures on this review because we got hungry and ate it before our cameras did. We ordered beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) and salt and pepper combo (chicken wings & squid) 椒鹽雙拼. The beef chow fun was delicious because it wasn't too greasy but I wish the beef were sliced a bit thinner. As for the salt and pepper combo, the squid was tasteless and too much batter. Service was good and attentive. They kept refilling our iced lemon tea without us having to flag them down, and it is also a plus for us because most places nowadays only give you one free refills. Interior is very colorful and vibrant. Another good Hong Kong style cafe to add to your list. Will definitely come back again.

Came back to get take out for NYE's dinner after our first choice closed early! Thankful for Alice's kitchen for still opens around 8pm on NYE! We order 5 dishes! Everything was big portion and tasty!! I wish I live closer and I would definitely be a regular. Before we left LA, we visited Alice's cafe one last time and got take outs for breakfast. Got our favorite pineapple buns and corned beef egg sandwich. During our 5 days in LA , we came 3 times! I'm sure I'll be back in the future for more good HK cafe food!
